START A CHARTER SCHOOL

Billions of stimulus package dollars will be flowing into education this year.

Charter schools are elementary or secondary schools in the US that receive public money but have been freed from some of the rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to other public schools in exchange for some type of accountability for producing certain results, which are set forth in each school's charter.

While charter schools provide an alternative to other public schools, they are part of the public education system and are not allowed to charge tuition.

This PDF document, for those new to the charter school movement, provides a "road map" through the five general stages of charter school development: getting started, developing the school, writing the charter, approval, and opening the school.

Convince a business closing a factory or warehouse to "donate" the building for conversion into a school. Or convert excess commercial real estate, floor of an office building.
