OUT OF WORK AUTO WORKERS = AUTO REPAIR BUSINESSES

The garage is an icon that stands for entrepreneurship in America.

As new car sales have plummeted, auto-repair shops have seen their businesses increase. Car owners under financial strain are more likely to pay for expensive repairs than take on the burden of paying for a new car. Investment in keeping the car(s) people have running is a necessity. For example, the owner of an older-model Honda Accord opted to do $1,400 worth of repairs to brakes and timing belts, rather than think about buying a new car.

Venture idea:
A lower priced local auto service provider is in growing supply.
Out of work auto factory auto workers can launch auto repair shops in their home garages.

Or perhaps Jiffy Lube could absorb out of work mechanics by helping them create more affordable "home garage franchises"
